About US
MyTv (Sister Concern of V.M International) is being established as a television channel, to run 24 hours a day using Bengali language as the primary medium, reaching Bengali speaking population, worldwide. A race of more than 350 million people, present in every corner of the globe, with a rich cultural heritage over a thousand years old has Dhaka had only marginal exposure in the global stage, most of it depressingly negative. Other than some acknowledgment of the know giants of Bengali such as Dr. Younus, Rabindranath Tagore, Amartya Sen, Ravi Shankar, F.H Khan – the representation of the Bengali race remains peripheral.
This multi faith, multi-national race has unique presence in the world today and in spite of many adversities both in the past and at present, survives with great vigor and potential right across the globe. The founder of MyTv (Sister Concern of V.M. International) emerges from deeply held commitment to give a voice to the Bengali people of the world that does justice to their global presence and rich heritage.
It will provide a vibrant and innovative platform to engage Bengalis and non-Bengalis in every nation where there is a significant Bengali presence; informing, entertaining, educating and generating critical debate. MyTv (Sister concern of V.M. International) will look inward and outward simultaneously.
Given the base from which MyTv (Sister concern of V.M. International) will operate in the heart of the Bangladeshi community in Dhaka within the central Town ward of some emphasis on the struggles and achievements of Global Bengalis, the most settled of the Bangladeshi communities abroad would be expected.
Given the need for a widely accessible platform MyTv (Sister Concern of V.M International) intends to broadcast globally as a free channel, reaching out to a language group that is the world's 4 th most widely spoken as declared by the United Nation.
